La Dame de Montrose 2011

Bordeaux - Saint-Estephe - Red - 13° Château Montrose Château Montrose 2011 1154/11
  • Parker : 86
  • J. Robinson : 17,5

2011 Saint-Estephe, Second Wine from Chateau Montrose, Bordeaux.

La Dame de Montrose comes from a second selection and is produced from the same vineyard and with the same care as the Chateau Montrose. The 2011 Second Wine from Chateau Montrose is 72% Merlot and 28% Cabernet Sauvignon.

This 2011 Saint-Estephe reveals a beautiful silky cherry red colour with a medium depth. The very expressive and concentrated nose is slightly sweet and woody. A blend of red berry, raspberry and Morello cherry aromas is given off. On the palate, La Dame Montrose offers a strong and distinguished attack that combines suppleness and tight tannins. The latter are less pronounced on finish although they reveal great length.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
One of this appellation's finest second wines, the 2011 La Dame de Montrose offers attractive black cherry and black currant fruit, soft tannins, medium body and a silky personality. While it lacks concentration, it makes up for it with its charm and forward appeal. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.;2014 - 2022
