In the 8th century, Charlemagne was the owner of vineyards on the Cote and asked to clear the favourable places to viniculture in the woods. This plot was then one of the first to be conquered from the forest. The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Le Clos des Issarts is a monopole of Domaine Faiveley. This wine is composed of Pinot Noir.
The ruby-tinted dark red coloured wine gives off well-matured fruit aromas with wood and empyreumatic (liquorice) notes. On the palate, the wine is elegant and round. The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Le Clos des Issarts reveals quite ample and silky tannins. This elegant wine is balanced and offers a good aromatic persistence. It can be tasted between 2021 and 2026.
