Description
An voluptuous and generous biodynamic red from Languedoc
The Domaine Leon Barral Jadis 2014 is a beautiful, biodynamic blend of 50% Carignan, 30% Syrah and 20% Grenache, hailing from a 10-hectare vineyard in the Lentheric hamlet in the Languedoc appellation of Faugeres. Maceration is carried out for 3 to 4 weeks with regular punch-downs in cement tanks. The must is lightly pressed in a vertical wooden basket press. The wine is aged for 24 to 26 months in oak barrels (of which 10% are new). Only native yeasts are used in the production of this wine.
The Jadis 2014 from Domaine Leon Barral is bold and spicy, with a voluptuous and harmonious mouthfeel, generous but still displaying the suppleness of ripe fruit (plums, cherries), along with spices, touches of chocolate and green herbs. A nice acidity lends plenty of freshness, balancing out the rounded tannins. This wine also offers a long and tasty finish, characterised by rich earthy notes.
