Description
Domaine de Baronarques 2013: A full & gourmet Limoux
Domaine de Baronarques is a red wine produced in the Limoux appellation, located in the Languedoc-Roussillon viticultural region. The weather conditions in 2013 were characterised by a rainy winter, just before bud break. The cold and damp April weather slowed down the development and caused a late blooming period (June 11- June 29). The moderate summer temperatures allowed the wines to mature favourably. September and October were warm, dry and pleasant. This dryness accelerated the maturation process. Harvest started 15 days late and ended only three days later than expected. The 2013 vintage is complex with Bordeaux and Mediterranean grape varieties: 53% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc, 12% Syrah, 8% Malbec and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. Domaine de Baronarques 2013 is aged in barrels with a proportion of 25% new barrels and 75% barrels of 1-3 wines.
A beautiful garnet hue with hints of purple, Domaine de Baronarques 2013 is intense and delicate in the nose. Aromas of ripe fruit, milk chocolate and liquorice present themselves. The unctuous palate, with ripe, mouth-coating tannins is wonderfully elegant. This full-bodied wine has a long and fruity finish.
