Description
The David Duband Morey-Saint-Denis 1er cru "Clos Sorbe" 2015 is a wine made from grapes grown on 50-year-old vines, enjoying eastern exposure and planted on Bathonian limestone. The grapes are harvested manually, carefully sorted and around 80% vinified with whole clusters. As the grapes ferment for 17 days, they are also punched down 5-7 times and pumped-over. After the wine is pressed, it is left to clarify for 2 weeks and transferred to oak barrels (40% of which are new, and the rest with 1, 2 or 3 previous uses). The wine spends 14 months, on average, in barrel and is then racked into a tank, where it stays for 3 more months before it is bottled.
At the tasting, the David Duband displays a cherry red colour, crystal clear and very neat. On the nose this wine exudes intense aromas of black and red berries, with a touch of black pepper. On the palate the wine is quite dense and fresh, with a satisfying finish. This wine boasts a great ageing potential.
