2010 Bandol from ProvenceThe 2010 Chateau Vannieres, from the Bandol appellation, is a Mourvedre and Grenache blend produced on limestone-clay soils. This Bandol reveals a shiny, dark-red hue; almost black. The nose exudes black fruits: currant or blueberry, seasoned with pepper and spices. To the palate, 2010 Chateau Vannieres is a smooth and fruity red, with well-integrated tannins bringing a lot of fullness. With great ageing potential, aromas will evolved into more intense notes of under-wood, toasted, and currant within five to seven years.
