Dom Pérignon : Rosé Vintage 2002

Champagne - Rosé - 12.5° Dom Pérignon Dom Pérignon 2002 3036/02
  • Parker : 98
  • J. Robinson : 18
The vintaged Rosés of Dom Pérignon have always been unique and prestigious cuvées. The Dom Pérignon style is easily identifiable thanks to the natural freshness of the wine, its complexity and precision in its structure. The 2002 rosé vintage presents a salmon pink and bright robe. It has a fine and accurate effervescence. On the nose, the bouquet of this champagne is bright and complex: smoky notes, as well as red and black berry notes (cherries and rapsberries for instance). On the palate, it is silky and sparkly, the texture is creamy and aromatic. This wine gives a true sensation of pleasure and streches out after each sip...

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Unfortunately there is only one new release from Dom Perignon on the market, but what a wine it is! The 2002 Brut Rose explodes from the glass with endless layers of huge, voluptuous fruit, A big, full-bodied wine, the 2002 is probably the most overly vinous, intense Rose ever made by long-time Chef de Caves Richard Geoffroy. Layers of cool, insistent minerality balance the fruit beautifully on the crystalline, vivid finish. The 2002 will be nearly impossible to resist young, but take my word for it; the wine is extremely closed right now. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2032.
