The estate
A hallmark of the Chablis terroir since 1815, Domaine Billaud-Simon is a testament to the big names which give Burgundy its reputation. Domaine Billaud-Simon strives to express the quintessence of the Chablis terroir, giving the Chardonnay a unique personality thanks to the involvement of Kimmeridgian limestone. Powerful and elegant, the Chablis by Billaud-Simon are the bearers of a unique identity which brings together freshness and purity.
The vineyard
Planted on the left and right banks of the Serein, at the heart of the Chablis appellation, the estate covers 17 hectares of prestigious plots, among which include four Grand Crus (Les Clos, Vaudésir, Les Preuses and Les Blanchots) and four Premier Crus (Montée de Tonnerre, Fourchaume, Mont de Milieu and Les Vaillons). Domaine Billaud-Simon maintains and cultivates an exceptional vineyard, with 50-year-old vines accounting for the majority and revealing the richness and authenticity of the terroir.
The wine
A true ambassador for Domaine Billaud-Simon, the Chablis Tête d’Or is a prestigious cuvée from the best plots at the estate, planted in village appellations. This wine is produced from vines located close to Premier Crus and Grand Crus. This high-quality Chablis, fruit of a plot-based selection, also stands out through its unique packaging.
