Description
A complex and intense Pommard 1er Cru
The estate
The history of the estate dates back to the middle of the 19th century, when the Nié-Vantey family from Burgundy extended their estate by acquiring plots of land to complete the existing vineyard. Heir to this historical and rich family heritage, Armand Heitz took over the running of the estate in 2011. This passionate oenologist renamed the estate and decided to expand it in order to develop a wider range of appellations.
Domaine Armand Heitz now reigns over a prestigious vineyard which, from Beaune to Chassagne-Montrachet, produces Burgundy wines that express the pure and balanced style of their terroir.
The wine
This 2019 Pommard 1er Cru Rugiens by Armand Heitz is made from a 0.4318-hectare vineyard. This terroir ranges from a low slope, rich in iron oxide, to a hillside with light, clear stones.
