2013 Vacqueyras Rhone Valley
Maison Tardieu-Laurent’s 2013 Vacqueyras Vielles Vignes is blend of old vines 30% Syrah and 70% Grenache. The wine boasts character and a violet-tinted, dark red hue. The nose exudes garrigue, black olived, pepper, violet and Morello Cherry notes. To the palate, the 2013 Vacqueyras Vielles Vignes is juicy and strong: a wine to keep.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
Checking in as a final blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre that was brought up in one- to two-year-old barrels, the 2013 Vacqueyras Vieilles Vignes is a charming, forward, seductively textured beauty that offers lots of black raspberry, blueberry, violets and sweet spice in a medium to full-bodied, balanced, ready to go style. It has terrific purity and no hard edges, and while I don't think it will make old bones, it will certainly offer tons of pleasure over the coming 5-7 years.
