Château Talbot

This 108 hectare vineyard is named after Constable Talbot, the English warrior who fell at the battle of Castillon in 1453. Acquired by Désiré Cordier in 1917, his descendants still own and manage the renowned Saint-Julien Fourth Growth. Resting on deep gravel-limestone soil that forms small hilltops, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are the dominant varieties and are complemented by Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Chateau Talbot produces consistent wines of exceptional smoothness with fruit, vanilla and blackcurrant aromas. The chateau also produces a white wine called "Caillou Blanc."
