Description
A fresh and concentrated white wine from Saint-Aubin 1er Cru
A single-varietal Chardonnay white wine produced in the Saint-Aubin 1er Cru appellation, the Saint-Aubin 1er Cru "Perrières" by Olivier Leflaive gets its name from the many stones covering the shallow soil of the plot. The vines, which are 25 years old on average, are planted on a terroir made up of clay and limestone soils. The ageing of the wine is carried out in oak barrels (20% in new barrels), for 12 months on average, with 5 months of blending en mass.
At tasting, the Saint-Aubin 1er Cru "Perrières" 2011 by Olivier Leflaive reveals aromas of white fruits, such as apple and pear, spices and a woodiness of great finesse. The palate is lively but balanced by a powerful texture. A superbly fresh and structured wine, to be consumed now.
