La Bernardine is located on a terroir composed of quaternary terraces with large stones on the surface, coming from the former bed of the Rhone. The famous producer Michel Chapoutier reveals a nectar with a dark, intense and deep red robe. On the nose, this Châteauneuf-du-Pape expresses fragrances of riped red berries and jam. On the palate, one can find complex and powerful tannins. On the mid-palate, it is a very generous wine of a beautiful richness, with aromas of plum and red berries. This Michel Chapoutier Châteauneuf-du-Pape Le Bernardine 2010 is a full-bodied and unctuous wine.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
Chapoutier's 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape La Bernardine (100% Grenache) exhibits notes of loamy soil, cranberries, black cherries, bouquet garni and a touch of licorice. Medium to full-bodied and pure with good acidity, more minerality than is normally found in this cuvee, and a long finish, it should drink well for 10-15 years.
