2015 Meyney is a Saint-Estephe having a deep and dark red exhales in the first nose an intense, fruity, floral and spicy bouquet. The notes of blackcurrant, black cherry, violet, tobacco, black pepper and graphite amass during the aeration. The attack is both powerful and rich. The creamy mid-mouthful echoes the intense bouquet of wine and confirms a big aromatic complexity. At that mid-mouthful, the touch on the tannins surprises by its softness. The final feel is distinguished and juicy, assuring on this Grand Saint-Estèphe a rare sensual delight.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2015 Meyney has a rounded red cherry and blackcurrant scented bouquet with a touch of spice that only develops with rigorous aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. I appreciate the fleshiness of this Saint Estèphe and it is nicely balanced. I can envisage this being an enjoyable 2015 to drink over the next decade, even if I suspect they will create better vintages in the future.
