This Château La Nerthe Châteauneuf-du-Pape cuvée des Cadettes 2004 shows a beautiful aromatic intensity on woody, red and black berry notes as well as smoked and toasted notes. On the palate, this wine is tightly-knit and rich with a well-integrated tannic structure and an opulent finish. One can find rich aromas of fruit on the palate, such as blackberry or blackcurrant. The whole is enhanced by a present wood yet well integrated. This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is ready to drink, as well as in 4 or 5 years.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
More perfumed, as well as rich, with vanilla tinged aromas of sweet cherry fruit, red licorice, cassis and spice-cake, the 2004 Chateauneuf Du Pape Cuvee Des Cadettes (44% Grenache, 33% Mourvedre and 23% Syrah aged all in new oak) is medium to full-bodied, balanced, and textured, with bright acidity and solid concentration. Still youthful, yet drinking nicely, it will continue to evolve gracefully for another decade.
