2014 Pauillac, Bordeaux.
Chateau Haut-Batailley is located in Pauillac and combines finesse, sweetness and purity. This 2014 vintage is 88% Cabernet Sauvignon - which marks its integration on the Pauillac terroir- and 22% Merlot.
The 2014 Chateau Haut-Batailley displays a deep and bright red colour. The bouquet develops ripe red berry aromas followed by much freshness. On the palate, the 2014 vintage offers strong and elegant tannins, with a lovely persistence on the fruit. This charming wine is well-balanced and gained complexity.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2014 Haut Batailley has a very subtle bouquet, one that bided its time in the glass and then unfolded with scents of blackberry, briary, pencil box and light graphite scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, moderate weight, classic and perhaps conservative in style. Yet the harmony is just wonderful and it slips down the throat almost too easily. As such, I feel this is a more approachable Haut-Batailley compared to other vintages, yet it has the body to reward three of four years of bottle age.
