Château de Fieuzal has been owned and managed for more than three centuries by generations of passionate and committed winegrowers. The terroir, that unique mix of soil and microclimate, is exceptionally suited to the production of top quality wine.Originally called " Gardères " the estate takes its name from the original owners up until 1851, the Fieuzal family. Its vines grow on the finest gravel soil rises in the Pessac Léognan appellation. It is well drained, and not too rich.Wine growing and making methods are traditional and respect the environment. The grapes are concentrated, producing reds and whites of exceptional quality. The whites are minerally with white peach overtones and the reds opulent and fruity.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
A more tannic, backward style of Pessac-Leognan, this wine has attractive, elegant notes of sweet plum, fig, tobacco leaf and red and black currants. It is medium-bodied, elegant, rich and persistent on the palate. The tannins are still relatively elevated and the wine in need of 4-6 years of cellaring. It should keep for at least two decades or more.
