The Mercurey 1er Cru "Clos du Roi" from Château de Chamirey is a Pinot Noir red wine produced in the Mercurey 1er Cru appellation. The vines are planted on clay-limestone soils, which are predominantly clayey. The wine is aged in oak barrels (50% of which are new).

At tasting, the Mercurey 1er Cru "Clos du Roi" 2010 of Château de Chamirey displays a splendid ruby colour with purple reflections. The nose combines elegance and finesse, giving off aromas of fresh fruits and berries, tart fruits (raspberry) and subtle notes of fresh almonds. The wine is delicate and fine on the palate, offering fresh fruit flavours and touches of butter from the barrel-ageing. The tannins combine freshness and suppleness perfectly.
