The château Caronne Sainte Gemme 2014 presents an itense color with purple reflections. The ripe Cabernet varieties enhance the intense and exuberant fragrances of blackcurrant and black cherry. Whilst swirling, complex aromas of Liban cedar combined with vanilla can be detected - this is due to the ageing of the wine. On the mouth, the wine is wide and tense proving an extreme softness. The tannins are strong but round in the finish. This Haut-Médoc is worth its success.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The Château Caronne Ste Gemme 2014 has a reserved, cedar and sous bois-scented bouquet that feels a little rustic compared to its peers, but there is an almost bucolic charm here. The palate is soft and ripe on the entry, a little simple but balanced, with a gentle grip on the winegum-like finish. I would have just liked more substance. Tasted twice with consistent notes.
