2015 Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux
Chateau Cap de Faugeres vineyard is located in the Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux appellation. The estate stretches over 46 hectares. The 2015 Chateau Cap de Faugeres blend carries larger proportions of Merlot, paired with Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The vintage displays a ruddy-tinted, garnet-red hue. The nose is refined, very intense, with blue fruit notes. Great balance on the palate, with tight tannins, lovely structure, and superb fruity length. This vintage will start peaking in 2022.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2015 Cap de Faugeres is a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, cropped at 37 hectoliters per hectare, picked between September 17 and October 8. There was a touch of reduction on the nose here. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, a little disjointed at the moment and needing more depth towards the finish. This is a bit hard and brutish at the moment.
