Description
The Elegance of a Badia A Passignano Chianti Classico
From the Chianti Classico DOCG appellation, the Chianti Classico Badia a Passignano Gran Selezione 2010 is from the Antinori Badia a Passignano estate, which is a property of the historic Antinori family.
Badia a Passignano Gran Selezione 2010 is a Chianti Classico produced exclusively from the best vineyards in the historic Chianti Classico area, which is home to the renowned Tuscan grape, the Sangiovese. Located in Sambuca Val di Pesa in the Tuscany region of Italy, Badia a Passignano is rich in history. The abbey on the property was founded in 881 and is one of the most beautiful fortified abbeys in the area.
A great vintage for the Chianti region, the Chianti Classico Badia a Passignano Gran Selezione 2010 is a typical representation of the Chianti Classico appellation with all its elegance and fruity expressions. The wine has a ruby colour. On the nose, there are ripe red berry notes that maintain freshness at the same time. With aeration, the wine further reveals balsamic and graphite mineral notes. The red berry aromas carry through to the palate that also include fine-grained, elegant tannins. There is a long finish that is characterised with the typical minerality of the area. A superb example of a Chianti to enjoy now.
